FOURTEEN members of the Pakenham Angling Club headed to Hollands Landing for a two-day bream competition – which was dominated by strong winds.
The McLennan Straits weren’t very productive, so it was off to Toms Creek, which was a more sheltered option – and produced more fish.
On both days, members of the Blackwood family displayed their bream-catching talents. On Saturday, Clive Blackwood won the heaviest and second-heaviest bream with Ron Blackwood taking out the secret weight.
On Sunday, Ron Blackwood landed the heaviest bream and Clive Blackwood was second. Brendan Rees won the secret weight to break the dominance of the Blackwoods.
The next meeting of the Pakenham Angling Club will be the annual trophy presentation and annual general meeting on Sunday 10 July, at noon at the Pakenham Senior Citizens Club, James Street. Contact Jason on 5997 1989 for more information.
