Concert by renowned pianist

By Emma Sun
INTERNATIONALLY reno-wned pianist Alan Kogosowski and soprano Emily Xiao Wang will be performing pieces by Franz Liszt at the St Margaret’s School next month.
The performance is happening as part of the Australian Masterclass Concert Program, and the pair will be conducting a masterclass prior to the performance.
Entry to the masterclass is free and singers and pianists of all ages are welcome.
The objective of the Australian Masterclass Concert Program is to enlighten and inspire students by bringing music performed at the highest level directly to schools.
Alan’s concert last year was a memorable evening with superb music and great atmosphere.
He promotes quality music in Melbourne schools, and St Margaret’s School is helping by promoting this within its own school population.
The program has been taken up by many other schools including Camberwell Grammar, Strathcona, Kilvington, Korowa and Melbourne High.
Tickets cost $35 for adults and $20 for students, with 20 per cent of the total ticket sales going towards improving the opportunities for young musicians in the community.
Alan and Emily will be performing at the Rosanove Auditorium on Gloucester Avenue in Berwick on Saturday 30 July at 7.30pm.
The masterclass will be held on Friday 29 July from 11am to 12.30pm.
