AN AUTOCROSS is a speed event less than two kilometres in length along a dirt track, surrounded by tyres, trees, banks and tape that can often be hard to handle.
But not for Pakenham Auto Club’s Angela Bloomfield.
Bloomfield finished third in the ladies class at this week’s running of the Victorian Club Autocross series at Boisdale – and extended her lead among the state’s best autocross drivers.
Hosting round five of the series at the home track of the Maffra and District Car Club, the PAC had a successful outing, with Pakenham members making up 15 of the 119 entries.
Bloomfield’s father, Alan, finished 20th in his class, while Keith Morling and his son, Alex and daughter Steph, who were competing in their Special Buggy, finished fifth, ninth and 10th respectively.
Tom Evans beat his dad, Peter, in the 4WD class while David Musgrave battled hard in class A.
