New comedy club in t

WEST Gippsland Arts Centre’s Theatre 2 will be converted into a Comedy Club, to bring comedy back to theatres.
There will be a combination of raked theatre seating and cabaret setting tables and chairs, all so that the audience can get up close and personal with the comedians.
Headliners for the night are three of Australia’s favourites, all of them familiar from performances and appearances on TV (Good News Week, Spicks and Specks, 7pm Project), Radio (774FM, MIX FM, Triple M) and stage (Melbourne Comedy Festival, Montreal, Edinburgh).
Jeff Green is an award-winning British comedian who has become a well-known face and voice on Australian TV and radio since arriving for his first Melbourne International Comedy Festival performance in 1996.
He is a fast on his feet thinker and intelligent with a warm, engaging style. Along with his many TV gigs, he is also well known on radio.
Jeff has performed at theatres, events and festivals all over the world and brings more than 20 years of TV, stage, corporate and broadcast experience to each event.
Geraldine Quinn is a songwriter, actor, comedian, guitarist, singer, ginger and wit-slinger: her black humour and rock stylings have given her a solid name in the industry since 2004.
She has had regular appearances on TV and has also had sellout shows.
Her latest show Shut Up and Sing earned five star reviews from The Age, was nominated for three Green Room Awards (Best Cabaret Artiste, Original Songs, Best Production) and also won the Golden Gibbo Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2011.
The show will headline with Tom Gleeson, one of Australia’s favorite comedians.
He is well-known in the TV circuit, and has also performed several times at all three major comedy festivals in Melbourne, Edinburgh and Montreal and the invite-only Kilkenny Comedy Festival in Ireland.
He’s been nominated for a Helpmann Award and won the Piece of Wood Comedian’s Choice Award at the 2008 Melbourne Comedy Festival.
Tickets for the Comedy Lounge will be limited by the special venue set up and people are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.
Drinks will be available from the bar and people 17 years and under should be accompanied by an adult.
Audiences are advised the show contains adult themes and occasional strong language.
The show will be held at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Saturday 17 September at 8pm.
