An author’s adventure

PAKENHAM author Susan Day will launch her book, ‘Astro’s Adventures: The Great Escape’, on 17 December at Lutheran College.
The book is based on real dogs and cats that live in Pakenham, and is part of a series of books for children and dog lovers alike.
It introduces readers to a shaggy dog named Astro, a group of secret agents that work for ‘The Organisation’ dedicated to saving neglected dogs and the evil genius cat, Speed Bump Charlie.
Ms Day will tour libraries and schools next year to do workshops and teach children how she turned seven ordinary dogs and one cat into superheroes.
Animals of Oz will be making a surprise appearance at the launch, where Ms Day will be available for signings.
There will be prizes and giveaways, as well as the opportunity to meet Astro, the star of the book.
Lutheran College is located at the corner of Lakeside Boulevard and Portobello Road, Pakenham. The launch will go from 1pm to 3pm.
