Clubs wheel in a winner

KELLY Colbourne was the winner of the Rotary Club of Pakenham and the Inner Wheel’s annual Christmas Trailer Raffle, which was drawn recently.
A large crowd surrounded the community booth in Pakenham Place to see president of the Rotary Club Tim Mepstead almost disappear into a giant wheelie bin and select Ms Coulbourne’s winning ticket.
Ms Coulbourne’s excited friends were present for the draw but their excitement was trumped by the winning family when the trailer, filled with goodies including a bar fridge, a bike, a television and outdoor heater, was delivered to their home.
Chairman of the Trailer Raffle Committee Julie Crawford said both clubs were thrilled with the support they received form local businesses to provide the prizes and the community who bought the tickets.
“We anticipate the raffle will have raised about $10,000, which will be distributed to the chosen charities of the associated clubs soon,” she said.
