Players enjoy spruced-up course

WITH the Pakenham Golf Club Pro-Am coming up on Friday 10 February the course is in mint condition at the moment and a large field of members enjoyed the conditions in a Stableford event on Saturday. Speaking of the Pro-Am, Kevin Booker must be a real chance after shooting 66 off the stick on Saturday to win A Grade with 42 points.
B Grade was won by Fred Uini (14) 45 points while C Grade was taken out by junior member Corey Porter with 42 points. Balls down the line went to 37 points.
Nearest the pins went to Rob Christie (2nd), Lee Belton (5th), Nick McQualter (8th), Max Craig (14th) and John Nooy on the 16th. Closest second shots went to Kevin Booker on the third hole and Chris Shields on the sixth. Longest Drive winners were A Grade Nick Sleep, B Grade Lachlan Gridley and C Grade Adam Williamson. Next week’s competition is the Monthly Medal Stroke event.

Monday competition winner was Don Dalgleish (28) with 47 points from runner-up Steve Laing with 44 points.
Balls down the line went to 37 points while nearest the pins went to Brian Doherty (2nd), Malcolm Clay (8th) and Steve Laing on the 14th.

Wednesday’s Par competition saw great scoring with six players tying on +6.
There must be a winner, however, and that was Ron Carroll who won on a count back from runner-up Nicholas McQualter.
Balls down the line went to +2 while nearest the pins went to Theo Vassiliadis (5th), Robert Muddyman (8th), Theo Vassiliadis (14th) and Ron Horne on the 16th.
Super-comp winner was Dylan Jack Murphy and NTP was Rod Cameron.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:WEDNESDAY TWILIGHT

The twilight competition winner was Steve Laing with 25 points from runner-up Dylan Jack Murphy with 23 points.
Balls down the line went to 21 points on a count back and nearest the pins went to Chris Shields (2nd) and Steve Laing on the eighth. Raffle winner was Kay Jones.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:WEDNESDAY NIGHT

The club has Wednesday twilight golf starting from 3pm each week until the end of daylight savings. Hang around after golf for the Wednesday night dinner which has a new menu and is available from 5.30pm to 8pm. The first Wednesday night of the month is a roast carvery. Other Wednesday nights hosts an a la carte menu.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:SUNDAY COMPETITION

The Sunday Competition was won by Sean Henderson (11) with 42 points from William Gourley (25) with 41 points balls while balls down the line went to 36 points.
There was no Junior Pennant this week.
