CARDINIA Waters’ Tuesday side travelled to Cheltenham last week and recorded a solid win, 61 shots to 47.
Bryan Stevens continued his winning run with Marion Stevens, Cliff Heath and Stuart Tokely all playing well and winning 24 to 12.
Dennis Patmore, Rae Richardson, Lindsay Cameron and skipper Wendy Titcombe also won, 21 to 18.
But skipper Jim Barrie, Fiona Samson, Anna Barrie and Pat Hutchinson suffered an agonising 16 to 17 loss.
The undefeated Saturday side continued its winning streak, this time at home against Mulgrave Country Club. Cardinia Waters surged to a 101-54 victory after a sluggish start.
With some key players out of action, selectors named first year bowlers Mick Knight and Charlie Borg as team leaders. The pair paid back the selectors’ faith in full, playing well in the victory.
Another first year player, Gunter Baumbach, has still not missed a game this season – indicating just how strong the future of the club will be.
Skipper Bryan Stevens and wife Marion, Doug Richardson and Stuart Tokely starred on Saturday, winning 31-12.
But skipper Lindsay Cameron, Charlie Borg, Brian Byrne and Bill Hite were not to be outdone, winning with a similar scoreline of 29-12.
David Blake, Mick Knight, Alan Brodie and Chris Mulcock won 24-15, while Gunter Baumbach, John Cazaly, Wendy Titcombe and John Van Vugt held on for a hard-fought 17-15 victory.
The top-of-the-ladder side will play its next two games away, at Coatsville and Chadstone, before returning home for its final game against Mordialloc.
