MEMBERS of the Beaconsfield Pistol Club can shoot for the stars with the new-look air shed.
The club, in Keniworth Avenue, is enjoying more members and a better shooting capacity after the floods in February last year.
Member Daryl Sewell said the floods were devastating when they inundated the club with water on 5 February last year.
“The water depth got to 193 centimetres in the actual shooting range, so it was about 6.4 inches,” he said.
“It was quite a reasonable amount of water.”
Equipment was also lost during the floods, and it took just over a week for the water to drain away.
The club, which is associated with the Victorian Amateur Pistol Association, built a new air shed and is thrilled with the new facility.
Cardinia Shire Council grants helped the club rebuild after what was a trying time.
“Eventually, we finished it up in November of last year and members have been enjoying it ever since,” he said.
