Harry’s rule of 12

By DANIELLE GALVIN

AS FATE would have it, when Harry Tweedale finally came into the world on 12 December 2000 he was two weeks late.
His mum Sally Cunningham was itching to meet her third child in just two and a half years, but Harry had other plans.
Today (Wednesday) the Maryknoll youngster will turn 12 – on the 12th day of the 12th month of 2012 and his extra special birthday celebrations will be lasting all week.
“This is definitely the most exciting birthday I have ever had, but to make it even more exciting my grammy and grandad from Yorkshire in England are flying from the other side of the world to celebrate with me and my family,” he said.
It was only last year that Sally realised Harry would celebrate a unique birthday.
“We only realised when he turned 11 and I said oh my goodness – it took us 11 years to work out,” Sally joked.
The St James Primary School student is even leaving school a little bit early to head to the hills for the Tree Top Adventure Ropes course in Belgrave.
“I can’t wait to go to the adventure treetop ropes course with my friends from St James then we are having a party at home afterwards,” Harry said.
“Dad is going to make one of his awesome cakes.”
Harry’s three brothers are also reaping the benefits of his extra special birthday.
“We are making the celebrations last all week – it started Monday with my Nan and Pop Cunningham, they
made me my favourite meal which is sausages, chips and gravy,” Harry said.
“Then my party today and then we are all going out on Sunday for a Thai dinner with all my grandparents and my aunty and uncle.
“This birthday is very cool!!”
