I wasn’t surprised to read in the Pakenham Gazette regarding the serious crash involving two teens on an illegal off road monkey bike and a ute driven by a responsible road user (Monkey Madness, Gazette, 22 January).
Teens have been flirting with death for quite some time, not only endangering their lives but the lives of innocent people.
I may not have been the perfect youth, but always respected the law and knew right from wrong.
It may be that the thinking brain does not develop until age 23 but for this to happen you have to have a brain to start with.
Hopefully these teens will fully recover and learn from their mistake.
