Oh what a day

CHRISTMAS was four weeks ago – a wonderful day was had by many at the Cardinia Community Christmas (free lunch) which was majority sponsored by the Cardinia Shire.
Further as I am a dog/cat lover I asked the Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic if I was able to place a basket there (prior to Christmas Day), for persons to place some goods for animals who are sometimes forgotten at this special festive season. People certainly placed many items in the basket which was brimming, thankyou.
I inadvertently had forgotten about this basket until the clinic telephoned me last week to say Sue, you have forgotten the hamper, it is here for you to collect.
Fortunately with talking to the Chocolate and Hampers Store owner Leonie, she stated Sue, Jan and myself will ‘parcel’ this up into two hampers – one for dogs and one for cats which will go to places where these animals are cared for by volunteers. No doubt Leonie will place some chocolates and lollies for the volunteers?
I am so elated at the wonderful businesses and personnel who care for their fellow community members and also on behalf of mans’ best friend/s in cats/dogs, thankyou so very much.
Thankyou everybody involved and to the persons who donated, and the staff at Racecourse Road, a special thankyou.
Sue Johns,
Pakenham.
