A Rose by any other name

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

JACLYN Milner hardly needs an alarm to wake her up in the morning.
Her prized two-year-old pooch Ruby Rose has it down pat.
“My favourite moments with Ruby are waking up with her in the morning next to me tapping me with her paw to wake me up,” said Jaclyn from Pakenham.
The Maltese shihzu cross poodle has been a well-loved member at Jaclyn’s home since the pup was just eight weeks old.
“It was love at first sight – I knew the minute I saw her I’d be taking her home,” she said.
Ruby Rose, who has been known to turn up her nose at any food presented to her besides boiled chicken or hearts, plays just as hard as she sleeps.
“Ruby loves to lick like most dogs and lay on your lap when watching TV.
“She is a very playful dog and loves all her toys.
“Having her climb under the covers at night time when it’s cold and laying her head on the pillow like a human (is very funny).”
Jaclyn said no other dog compares with her cuddly companion.
“Ruby is a very intelligent, spoilt little dog who mummy loves very much.
“She is not like any other dog… she’s one of a kind and I’m glad to have her in my life.”
