THE Matthew George Young Stockman Award applications are now open.
The award is aimed at breeders aged 18 to 25 years who have a passion for the industry and the skills, expertise and knowledge needed to support the growing cattle industry in Australia.
The award was created in the memory of Matthew George, a passionate stockman from the Lake Goldsmith Stockyard Hill area in Victoria, who died tragically in a motor vehicle incident in 2007.
Young cattle breeders are urged to apply and the winner will be announced at the Royal Melbourne Show in September.
