Building a solid reputation

Some of the South-East region’s best businesses are vying for this year’s Casey Cardinia Business Awards. In the lead up to the gala presentation dinner on Friday 27 October, the Gazette profiles the nominees in each category. This week coverage focusses on Manufacturing and Trades and Construction.

Manufacturing
A security-door maker, an horticultural products manufacturer and electronics designer have been nominated as the South-East region’s premier manufacturers.

MGR Security Doors
This Cranbourne manufacturer provides some of Australia’s best-performing home security doors in the Casey-Cardinia region.
Its aluminium and steel screen-guard doors combine 316 marine-grade stainless steel mesh, a triple locking system, triple hinges and Austral locks, and a thick frame, with a 15-year warranty.
The doors are impact tested and pass Australian standards.
MGR Security Doors also makes steel door enclosures, fly screen doors and windows out of the same steel mesh screens.
It undertakes the complete process with customers, from measure-and-quote, construction, supply to the final installation.

Powerplants Australia
Based in Hallam, Powerplants Australia makes horticultural technology supplies and accessories.
It tailors innovative solutions for all sectors of the horticulture industry including berries, soft fruit, cherries, field vegetables, nurseries, protected cropping and cut flowers.
One of its products is automated greenhouse systems that include water, fertiliser delivery and recycling, climate control and harvesting aids.
Its vertical farming systems incorporate different-coloured LED lights to help control plant growth – red for more flowers and fruit, and blue for more leaves.

Successful Endeavours
Hallam firm Successful Endeavours designs electronics-based products for manufacture in Australia.
Its designs include industrial controls, power distribution equipment, security systems and telemetry devices including the Internet of Things.

Its stated aim is to provide world-class product development to allow clients to be locally and internationally competitive.
It can also manufacture the products for clients who are not manufacturers.

A home builder, an insulation installer and a road-lighting designer are the three finalists in the Trades and Construction category.

Elite Building Services
