Prices break $1000

Last Wednesdays yarding at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange increased by 200 head with the market average of $1009 which is up $61 on the previous week’s average.
Vealers sold to 359.2 cents, which was up 24 cents on the previous week with more demand for better vealers.
Demand for steers and heifers was stronger. Steers sold to 301.6 cents, up 15 cents on the previous week and heifers sold to 300 cents, which was 13 cents better.
One hundred and seven heifers made to 300 cents, up 13 cents, 56 steers made to 301.6 cents, up 15 cents, and 82 veal made to 359.2 cents, up 12 cents.
Nineteen bulls on Thursday topped at 289.2 cents and averaged 257.6 cents, up 14 cents on the last sale, 403 cows made to a top of 248.6 cents, and the average was 201.8 cents.
The week’s demand resulted in a much improved sale.
