Holistic healthcare

Bunyip Optical is a family owned and operated business established over a decade ago by founder and principal optometrist Sonia Romm.

Practising in the same clinic is Dr Rachel Yanovsky (Osteopath); founder and owner of Focus on Osteopathy Bunyip.

This mother-daughter collaboration started out over a decade ago when Bunyip Optical opened within the local community medical centre at A‘Beckett Road in Bunyip before growing and moving into larger premises adjacent to Bunyip IGA.

Sonia knew that regional areas needed better access to quality healthcare and having worked in regional Victoria for a number of years she felt very passionate about providing good healthcare to the community.

The passion Sonia has for providing good healthcare and building long-term relationships with customers is a hallmark of Bunyip Optical.

This same drive is reflected in Rachel’s work. Starting out as a receptionist and dispenser for Bunyip Optical whilst completing her studies, Rachel grew with the changes of the optical practice and finally made her way back in 2022 to open her own osteopathic clinic.

Embracing the principals of holistic healthcare, Rachel and Sonia are able to work collaboratively to provide further healthcare options for surrounding communities.

An integral part of the team are the incredible reception and dispensing staff Kylie, Sarah and Sonia’s husband Simon.

The team of three coordinate to help customers choose frames, book appointments and keep Sonia and Rachel organised and calm.
