Golf land deal hailed a groundbreaker back in 1977

The Shire President Cr M. Bishop and Sam Shallard (on behalf of owners) sign an agreement providing for the setting aside of public open space in 1977. Others in the photo include the shire secretary Mr B. Wallis, town planner Mr T. Connolly, Mr S. Teodorivic (consultant to the landowers), Messres L. and N. Whitta (two of the landowners involved in the scheme), and legal representatives for both the shire and the landowners.
