THE newlook St James Catholic School at Nar Nar Goon received the blessing of Bishop Jeremiah Coffey on Friday.
The school recently completed a $460,000 makeover, with extensive works including an art room, a small group learning area, a teacher resource room, administration area and disabled facilities.
A fifth classroom has also been prepared to cope with increased enrolments at the school.
Principal Terry Ahern welcomed the refurbishments which were officially opened by Bishop Coffey at a special celebration.
“We are very pleased with the learning environment that has been created through this refurbishment program,” Mr Ahern said.
“The children are comfortably situated in air conditioned rooms and the new art room has been extensively used by all grades.
“The painting and landscaping have lifted the external appearance and given the school a very welcoming ambience,” Mr Ahern said.
