Top scores at Beaconhills

BEACONHILLS Country Golf Course members took to the Lakes course last week with some excellent scores.
On Tuesday, 17 January, Ben Ferrif (nine) won the Stableford competition with 41 points on a countback and Don Paterson (25) won B grade with 42 points, also on a countback.
On Thursday, the Stableford competition fielded three grade winners.
The Agrade winner was a very consistent John Ackaoui (eight) with 42 points.
Dieter Voigt (19) scored 15 points on the front nine, but came home strongly over the back nine with 23 points, his 38 point tally winning B grade, on a countback.
The Cgrade winner was once again on a countback with Ted Fleming (21) scoring 41 points.

On Saturday the temperature measured 35 degrees in the shade, but this didn’t slow Martin Balsarini (24) who won the Old course competition with 43 points.
The Lakes course competition had Travis O’Neill (nine) as the Agrade winner with 41 points and Garth Poulter (17) winning B grade with 43 points.
Greg Meyers (29) posted the highest score in recent memory with 48 points. His handicap is now five shots less.
Jonathon Collins won the junior ninehole competition with a nett 31.

The mercury continued to rise on Sunday, reaching 43 degrees through the afternoon, but this didn’t stop 62 players braving the Lakes course.
Hamish Macphee (10) scored 39 points to secure A grade and Graeme Coates (18) won B grade on a countback with his score of 38 points.
