KOOWEERUP Netball Club’s Agrade team played a strong game to down Lang Lang by 14 goals in round two on Saturday.
The players settled well and showed some great teamwork with goalers Renalle Casey and Lyndelle James scoring confidently and quickly.
The second quarter saw Lang Lang convert some quick turnovers and come within one goal.
Strong passes through the centre court by Danneil Caig and Bec Feltham saw the goalers continue to score and at the halftime break Kooweerup was up by five goals.
Outstanding defence by Brooke Ray backed up strongly by Jess Skepper drove the team onto a strong lead of 12 goals in the third quarter.
The last quarter saw solid play from both teams with Kooweerup the clear winners.

B GRADE
It was a tight first quarter from both teams and solid defence by Jayne Cameron and Jackie Saffron kept Kooweerup in front by one goal.
The second quarter was also closely contested, but Kooweerup goalers were unable to convert turnovers to goals.
Lang Lang went into the halftime break with a fourgoal lead.
Solid play by Lang Lang saw it draw away, finishing the third quarter with a sevengoal lead.
Kooweerup fought tirelessly, but couldn’t close the gap.

C GRADE
Goalers Jena Male and Michelle Drysdale got their eyes in early and Kooweerup was five goals up at the end of the first quarter.
Strong attack play by Kirsty Curtis saw Kooweerup extended its lead by another two goals in the second.
With strong quality play all down the court and great teamwork Kooweerup finished the third quarter with a lead of 13 goals.
Excellent goaling by Drysdale and Male saw Kooweerup outscore Lang Lang by nine goals the last quarter for a runaway win of 22 goals.

D GRADE
First quarter saw the girls start off strongly against a determined Lang Lang.
Excellent defence was rewarded by 100 per cent goaling. The centre court worked hard all game and despite many positional changes every player put in 100 per cent effort.
Best: Jensey Thompson.

E GRADE
The centre passes of Jade Williams gave Shanae Ingram and Sam Belsham plenty of scoring opportunities and with Kassy Male and Mariah Bell defending well, Kooweerup looked good in the first quarter, leading by 14 goals.
Pressure from the defence caused a few turnovers and Kooweerup’s attack made the most of these opportunities in the second quarter.
In the third quarter Lang Lang put Kooweerup under pressure, but Megan Bugg and Emily Harrison worked well together giving Shanae Ingram and Laura DeHommel plenty of opportunities.
In the last quarter Kooweerup changed its team structure. Mariah Bell gave the attack an advantage and Lang Lang applied more pressure across the court with Sam Belsham finishing off with a few goals.

F GRADE
Kooweerup started off slowly, but its attack got plenty of opportunities to score with Sarah Cammerano doing well.
In the second quarter the girls started to get a good system of moving the ball from defence to attack. Cassie Belsham and Alex Bell combined well and at halftime Kooweerup led by 10 goals.
Jess Duff made the most of her centre passes in the third quarter, with Lauren Harrison and Marie Osborne creating scoring options.
In the last quarter Lang Lang put some pressure on Kooweerup and the defence of Brooke Radings and Jessie Chapman stood up well.
