MEMORABILIA from the 2004 Connolly Games, including a formal photo, contingent names, tshirt and a medal, has been unveiled at the Civic Centre.
It will feature as a permanent record of the 2004 Connolly Games, part of Casey’s sporting and cultural exchange with Springfield, Ohio, USA.
Connolly Games organising committee chairman Bob Muir said the exchange was a wonderful opportunity for all involved. He said members were looking forward to planning the reciprocal 2006 Edwin Flack Games, which Casey will host from 19 June to 8 July 2006.
Springfield has already confirmed that it will take part. Casey mayor Neil Lucas said the games provided an excellent opportunity for Casey to strengthen its sister city relations and to contribute to global friendships, goodwill and understanding.
The council is seeking expressions of interest from the community from athletes, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and home hosts for the 2006 Edwin Flack Games.
