PAKENHAM sprintcar racer Kenny ‘Boof’ Griffey was the special guest of AFL team Western Bulldogs when he returned to Australia recently from a stint with Randy Sippel’s Openwheel Driving School in America.
Griffey had some good results and importantly, gained experience on a variety of tracks, allowing him to collect valuable data on vehicle setups.
Griffey will do a number of promotions before he heads back to the U.S.A, with Team Griffey Racing (TGR) and contacted the Western Bulldogs as part of that publicity.
Marketing assistant Shaun Anderson organised Griffey, a keen Bulldogs fan, to attend the club and chat with players including sprintcar racing enthusiast Brian Harris.
The sportsmen talked for more than an hour about life in sport and what they do in their respective fields, the need for fitness and focus and the dedication required to be at the top of their games.
