Bullants bite into finals

OFFICER A Grade won by 98 runs against Devon Meadows and will play a home final this Saturday and Sunday against Tooradin.
The Bullants made 331, passing Devon Meadows’ score with four wickets left in the shed.
A second wicket stand of 69 between Rod Zlonzak (29) and Steve McIntyre (53) that included eight boundaries saw Officer enjoy a solid start. The score was 5/156 at tea.
Ben Tivendale (20 not out), Daniel Savage (14) and Andrew Tucker (30) all managed to get away to good starts.
Peter Quinn top scored with an entertaining 76 that included seven fours and a six.
Peter Quinn shared a 77run stand with Tucker and put on 42 for the seventh wicket with Brett Reid (21).
Chris Savage made a good return to Agrade ranks with 40 not out.
Col Tucker made 11 and Glen Longmuir three in a lastwicket stand of 42.

C GRADE

Officer finished the year off with a 124run loss to Devon Meadows.
Chasing 268, Officer was all out for 144 after being in trouble at 6/59 and looking like it would not reach 100.
Jason Hester continued his good form in the late stages of the season and top scored with 58.
Brett Pullen was in good form at the top of the order, but fell for 22.
Matt Cooper hit two striking fours in his innings of 11, adding 35 with Hester for the eighth wicket.
Paul Simon made 21 adding 52 for the ninth wicket with Hester.
With the ball in hand, the Bullants bowled 25 overs and allowed Devon Meadows to score 3/197 on a fast ground.
Peter Tucker took two catches and picked up 1/23, thanks to a great catch at point taken by Cooper.
Andrew Reid won man of the match with his 5/177 off 18 overs.

E GRADE

Officer was well beaten by Pakenham UpperToomuc (PUT) after it declared at 4/231, having resumed at 4/149.
Wayne Danks took 2/19 from six overs, Gary Tivendale 1/0 from four balls, Gavin Boon 1/79 from 11 overs and Tom Bulenok 1/24 from three overs.
The Bullants then batted for 39 overs, scoring 115. Danks completed a good allround game to score 44 not out.
Boon (22) hit two fours in a fiery opening to the innings.
Tivendale made 10, Heath Cunningham and Chris Dorman eight.
PUT finished at 0/39 from three overs.

F GRADE

The Bullants kept their winning form with a convincing victory over KilcundaBass, bowling it out for just 79.
Officer made 5/166. Top scorers were Trevor Adcock (46), Andrew Stevenson (44) and David Coldebella took the tidy figures of 2/23 in a good allround effort.
Andrew Cooke took 2/15 in a quick spell with the new ball. Steve Barlow had 1/29 and Stevenson 1/5.
The Bullants advance to the semifinals against Clyde at Clyde this weekend.

UNDER 16

Officer was all out for 15 against Beaconsfield to end the season with an outright loss.

CLUB NOTES

The junior presentation night is on Friday, 31 March at the clubrooms. The senior presentation night is on Saturday, 1 April at 7pm.
