Top ton for Beconsfield

BEACONSFIELD Netball Club’s Agrade team ended the season on a high note with an 81goal demolition of Doveton on Saturday.
With a target in its sights, the team combined well to score 100 goals and with seconds to go the girls reached their goal.
Scores: Beaconsfield 100 d Doveton 19.

B GRADE

With Amie Wallis missing through injury, it was up to the other girls to reach the team’s goal.
The defence end kept Doveton to a small score with tight play and great intercepts.
The midcourt fed the goalers with precision and allowed them plenty of opportunities to score.
Scores: Beaconsfield 87 d Doveton 7.

C GRADE

In the final match of the season, Beaconsfield ensured its equal top spot on the ladder by convincingly defeating Doveton.
While there wasn’t a lot of talk on the court, there were some great goals scored by the first goaling combination of the day.
The shooters remained aggressive at the ball all game and were rebounding and following up their shots well.
The midcourt had a different feel in the third quarter after a rushed and undisciplined second quarter.
The change of positions proved to be a better combination, with some excellent feeding into the ring and a much better use of systems.
The defence started off slowly, however once it started to play its usual game, many rebounds, intercepts and plenty of pressure over the ball created the turnovers required for a good and positive win for the end of the season, heading into finals.
Scores Beaconsfield 65 d Doveton 24.
Best on court: Shelley Ziesler.

17 AND UNDER

The team was rotated well through the midcourt against a side that tried hard all game.
The defenders were strong and held Doveton to 14 goals with plenty of passes being picked off.
The goalers took their chances, shooting well for 32 goals.
With finals approaching, the girls will look to improve on last weekend’s performance.
Scores: Beaconsfield 32 d Doveton 14.

15 AND UNDER

An excellent game by the girls, beating their opponents all over the court.
A strong first quarter by the shooters opened a solid lead and carried over into second period allowing the girls to play in untried positions.
Scores: Beaconsfield 42 d Doveton 15.
Best on court: Molly Veltmeyer.

13 AND UNDER

An unfortunate loss for Beaconsfield at a crucial time of the season.
Not the best game by the girls, but after a few position changes they picked up in the third quarter to lose by seven points.
The defence was strong. Scores: Beaconsfield 12 lost to Doveton 19.
