BEACONSFIELD seniors failed to hold a strong and fastrunning Hampton Park on Saturday, going down by 39 points.
The Redbacks, at home, jumped out of the blocks and caught a lacklustre Beaconsfield team by surprise, controlling the game from the outset and providing plenty of supply to its forwards who capitalised early in the game.
Goals from McConnell and Mislicki late in the first quarter settled the Beaconsfield team a little that went into the quartertime break four goals down.
The second quarter saw a more accountable performance through the midfield from the Beaconsfield team and with some quicker movement of the football allowed the Eagle forwards some opportunity to score.
Goals to Robins during the second quarter saw Beaconsfield go into the long break 23 points down.
The second half saw Hampton Park control the stoppages and centre breaks which in turn provided quality supply to its forwards such as Baskaya and Shorey who were having great contests with Jackson and Ziesler respectively.
Throughout the remainder of the game Hampton Park’s strength and numbers around the ball provided a standard of running football that Beaconsfield could not match.
Running out 48 point winners, Hampton Park showed themselves to be a level above the Beaconsfield team on the weekend and to be true finals contenders.

Beaconsfield was able to field its strongest side for the season and was rewarded with a sevengoal first term.
To Hampton Park’s credit, it fought back hard in the second quarter, holding Beaconsfield to four goals, while adding a couple of its own.
In the second half, Beaconsfield kicked away again with Reece Pater and Kall Burns controlling the backline, while Paul Van Lambaart was running amok across the wing. The forwards were sharing the goals around with Sam Benbow enjoying a new role up forward, kicking three.
Beaconsfield ran out winners by 18 goals in a great team effort.
