STUDENTS at Beaconsfield Primary School have excelled in the Premier’s Reading Challenge with 213 successfully completing all the requirements.
Member for Gembrook Tammy Lobato was at the school on Monday with principal Gary Methven to present them with a congratulatory certificate.
Ms Lobato said the number of students who completed the challenge was remarkable and placed the school in the top 25 across the state.
“The Premier’s Reading Challenge has been a fantastic incentive to get children in primary and secondary schools across the state to read books,” Ms Lobato said.
“Every participant had to read at least 12 books, which means that students from Beaconsfield Primary School alone read more than 2500 books from February until August.
“This is a remarkable achievement and the school community should be thoroughly impressed by the dedication and diligence of these students.”
