A PAKENHAM teenager was rushed to a Melbourne hospital last week after he was hit in the head with a rock during a fight at the railway station.
Two boys, aged 14 and 16, have been charged by police in connection with the incident.
Police said it was believed the 17 year-old was with friends when the rocks were thrown.
Police said the group chased the rock throwers and there was a fight at the Pakenham Railway Station. After this, rocks were thrown by both groups resulting in the 17-year-old being hit in the head.
The injured boy was said to be in a critical but stable condition in The Alfred hospital .
Transit detectives arrested the two boys on Friday afternoon in the Pakenham area.
Police have charged them with intentionally causing serious injury and conduct endangering life.
The pair has been bailed to appear at the Dandenong Children’s Court at a later date.
