Shirley and David pair up for win

ON Monday, 18 July the final of the Jim Goedeman’s Cup Pairs was played at Berwick Bridge Club.
The winning pair was Shirley Collins and David Yoffa. Second place went to John Watson and Judith McDonald with Jan Smith and Win Roynon third.
North/south winners of the eighttable Mitchell were Elsie Cadman and Gwenda Preston from Bob Moorhouse and Pat Beazley. East/west was won by Ellwyn Miskin and Claire Page from Marion Anderson and Maree Parry.
A 12table Mitchell was played on Wednesday, 20 July. North/south winners were Julie Day and Faye Rowlands.
Second were Bev Holland and Gwen Brentnall with Jean Hyndman and Elly Carey third.
East/west was won by Gwyn Hughes and Win Roynon from Brian and Maxine Porter with Roger Littlehales and Arthur Perera third.
The Howell movement played on Thursday was won by Heather Saunders and Shirley Collins. Second were Annette Kirby and George Ashby with Doreen Rutherford and Charles Blanks third.
Friday was an eighttable Mitchell.
North/south was won by Charles Blanks and Doreen Rutherford from Brian Jones and Bob Willacy second and Heather Saunders and Dolores Hogan third. East/west winners were Jean Carter and Dianne Nicol.
Second were Clive Wilson and Dunstan Coorey with Pat Beazley and Ellwyn Miskin third.
