Advertising ‘guru’ shares his secrets

ADVERTISING ‘guru’ Tim Shaw was in Pakenham last week to spread his own infectious brand of marketing magic to local business people.
Mr Shaw spoke at the Cardinia business breakfast, a regular business network and educational event for local businesspeople conducted by Cardinia Shire Council’s development unit.
The man best known for his “But wait, there’s more . . .” steak knife advertisements shared the amazing story of his transformation from an auto electrician to one of Australia’s most recognisable faces and voices.
The breakfast was held at the Cardinia Cultural Centre where business operators heard Mr Shaw give tips on how to make a business stand out from the crowd, how to work the local market, how to turn negative events into positives, and how to create ad campaigns that really work.
He then answered marketing questions from an enthusiastic audience.
“Cardinia businesses have a huge opportunity, as the growth here means your customer base is expanding by thousands of people each year,” Mr Shaw said.
Mr Shaw encouraged businesspeople to use every business networking opportunity such as the business breakfasts.
“It’s good to see so many smart businesspeople here this morning.
“It’s important to keep learning, and to use every opportunity to promote your product or service to as many people as possible,” he said.
The next business breakfast will be held at Warrook Cattle Farm, South Gippsland Highway, on Friday 28 October.
