Lara’s entry ‘Free Spirit’ was selected as one of five finalists from around Australia.
Her image was then displayed on the National Youth Week website for online voting over three weeks and voting placed her top of the list.
She has won a digital camera and a work experience placement in her chosen field.
La Trobe MP Jason Wood announced the win. He said it was a significant achievement for Lara because there were hundreds of entries from all over Australia.
“During the three week voting period, people from all around Australia placed more than 40,000 online votes for the finalist entries,” Mr Wood said.
National Youth Week 2005 is a joint Australian, state, territory and local government initiative.
