PAKENHAM Racing Club’s Racers Entertainment Complex celebrated the grand opening of its new bar on Friday night.
About 700 racing members and gold members attended the official opening of the bar, called Telopia Lounge, and new TAB facility.
Pakenham Racing Club chief executive Terry Macdonald said the club was very happy with the results of the opening and the general feedback.
“It exceeded our expectations,” Mr Macdonald said.
MC for the evening was The Price is Right’s exhost Shaun Cosgrove and the night included live entertainment from acoustic duo Meg and Pam as well as various prizes and giveaways which were all won by members.
Mr Macdonald said plans for a new bar had been on the drawing board for about two years and the feedback about the bar had all been positive.
“We are extremely happy with the response and the venue is planning to continue its expansion over the coming years,” Mr Macdonald said.
Future plans for the expansion of Racers include an outside courtyard opening in the next month and live entertainment, which will be starting in September.
Assistant gaming manager Kerrie Bridle said he was extremely happy with the response from all members, the public and guests.
