A NEW relationship has developed between volunteer organisations in Lang Lang.
Lang Lang Opportunity Shop has supported various projects and groups in the area and has just selected the town’s fire brigade as a new beneficiary.
Opportunity shop volunteers Betty Easton and Sylvia Sproull are collecting cash donations from their patrons, which will be passed on to the Lang Lang Fire Brigade.
Ms Easton said they were happy to help.
“We are two volunteer workers and decided there were other volunteers who needed help and the fire brigade were most needy as they are on call 24 hours a day, risk their lives for us and are all volunteers,” she said.
“We would also like to thank anyone who has supported us with their donations.”
Lang Lang Fire Brigade captain Mark McPherson thanked the opportunity shop volunteers by presenting them with a certificate of appreciation.
“Fundraising these days is so difficult,” Mr McPherson said.
“The brigade needs to upgrade our specialist lighting vehicle and appreciates any help we can get.”
