MOST men don’t understand how to win and keep a woman’s heart, according to Berwick resident and relationship coach, Jane Roder.
Ms Roder recently published a relationship advice book, 101 Ways to Win a Woman’s Heart, to help men learn how to communicate, be intimate and make women feel valued and loved.
“Statistically, 70 per cent of separations are initiated by women,” Ms Roder said.
“This is a huge figure.
“Both sexes need to be aware of why this is happening and how it can be solved.”
Ms Roder said many women and men did not have the skills and selfunderstanding to create great relationships and this was the cause for many of the problems for singles and couples today.
“Like running a good business, or being a firstclass sportsman, successful relationships don’t just happen without putting in time and effort,” she said.
Ms Roder, an author, life coach and counsellor, has lived in Berwick for the past 15 years with her sons Jos, 23, and Abe, 19.
She has been through two long relationships and a marriage breakdown.
“I’ve been on both sides of the fence,” Ms Roder said. “I couldn’t have written the book otherwise.”
Ms Roder said her book was an accumulation of wisdom and knowledge gained over 30 years of listening to thousands of women talk about what they want and do not want in their relationships.
“Women want their emotional needs met, not just men who bring home the bacon and go and watch the footy,” Ms Roder said.
“Women have evolved because of things like women’s liberation and now they want men to evolve and grow as well.”
Ms Roder will also be running a workshop for men on ‘how to win a woman’s heart’.
The workshop will run on 30 August, 8 and 22 September at the Balwyn and Kew libraries. All participants will receive a free copy of the book.
