Injuries rob cats of win

AN undermanned Cardinia United Cougars Junior Soccer Club’s under-14 team played a strong Beaumaris at Balcombe Reserve on Sunday, going down 7-0.
It was a tough first half with Cardinia conceding only two goals in the first half.
The Cougars played a great game of defence by stopping nearly all the shots at goal.
Cardinia came out in the second half and pushed the ball forward, having three good shots at goal.
After its numbers were reduced due to injury, Beaumaris found the edge it needed to win the game
Scores: Beaumaris 7 d Cougars 0.
Pierce Dimitriou was the Cougar’s best player.

Cardinia played a spectacular game of teamwork against Baxter in a fast-paced and action-packed game on Sunday.
There were tense moments where both teams came very close to kicking goals, but the defence on both sides was too committed to let the ball get through them and their goalkeepers.
The final result was a draw, but it was definitely the best game Cardinia has played all season.
Scores: Cougars 0 drew with Baxter 0.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:LIONS AND TIGERS
7-8 YEAR OLDS

The Lions mauled Endeavour United at a gala day held at Endeavour Hills, winning 6-0 in the first game.
It was a complete team effort.
Dylan Raynes was rock solid in defence and also scored a great goal.
The Tigers roared to life in their first game, with Maddison Gelastopoulous kicking three of the four goals to ensure Cardinia’s 4-3 victory.
The second game was very tight for the first half, before Endeavour United pulled away to win 8-3.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:COUGARS 5-6 YEAR OLDS

The young Cougars equipped themselves extremely well in both games against Endeavour Hills.
They showed a never-say-die attitude to finish out the first game 10-12.
Their skills enabled them to find targets more often than their opponents.
Their team play allowed them to compete in the second game, but unfortunately they ran out of steam when they lost two substitutes.
Endeavour United won 7-2.
